2001 Picture Postage Christmas Stamps - [47c] Domestic Rate

These stamps were issued on September 21, 2001, with the 47c value removed and "Domestic Lettermail" added in the margins in English and French. The same inscription was added in the center area to prevent customers from printing there own pictures directly on the stamps.

These stamps remain valid for postage at the current domestic letter rate, 59c.

The "mahogany" frame was replaced by a "baby" frame.

Panes unglued to the covers were made available in the 2002 first quarter stamp pack and the 2002 annual souvenir album, despite being issued in late 2001. Die-cut to shape stamps were not produced.
