49c Flag over Edmonton

Ashton Potter (AP) Printing    Canadian Bank Note (CBN) Printing
  1. The colour toning on the right red bar of the flag has a lighter triangular section.
  2. The orange-yellow sunset colour is course, with the printing screen clearly visible under a magnifying glass.
  3. The "hidden date" is usually heavily inked.

80c and $1.40 Maple Leaf

Ashton Potter (AP) Printing    Lowe-Martin (LM) Printing
  1. The "hidden date" is usually very fine and crisp, on both values.
  2. The red maple leaf is lighter than the one on  the LM printing
  3. The yellow shadow is usually darker than that one on  the LM printing.
  4. printed on Fasson paper
  1. The "hidden date" is dark and the numbers often touch each other on both values.
